Question: I received hail damage—what should I do first?

Answer: Your first step is to call your insurance company and file a claim. They’ll typically schedule a time to inspect your vehicle and write an initial estimate. These preliminary estimates are often quick and may not capture all the damage, since adjusters have limited time during high-volume storm events. In some cases, they may even issue a check and send you on your way.

Don’t worry—once you bring your vehicle to Dent Tech, we take it from there. We’ll perform a thorough inspection, create a detailed and accurate estimate, and submit any necessary supplement to your insurance company to recover the difference for missed or underestimated damage.

 Question: A hail storm just happened and I’m being bombarded by door-to-door salespeople, flyers, and companies setting up tents. Why should I choose Dent Tech?
Answer: After a major storm, it’s common for repair companies to flood into the area from out of state. Many of these “storm chasers” are here to make quick money and then move on as soon as the work slows down. They may promise big results, but they often aren’t around later if you have questions, need follow-up help, or ever need warranty support.

Question: I recently filed a collision claim—will my insurance company drop me if I file another claim for hail damage?
Answer: No. Hail damage is typically considered a natural catastrophe (an event outside your control). Because it’s caused by Mother Nature, filing a hail claim generally won’t result in your insurance company dropping you.

Question: Is the damage even worth filing a claim?
Answer: In most cases, yes. Many deductibles are around $500, while hail damage repairs often total thousands of dollars. Not only is it usually worth filing—it’s also worth fixing. Selling or trading in a vehicle with hail damage can be difficult, and dealerships often reduce your value twice: first for normal depreciation, and again for the hail damage—leaving your vehicle worth far less than it should be.

Question: How am I going to afford my deductible?
Answer: We offer a few different programs to help. In many cases, we can provide savings equal to your deductible. We understand hail damage happens unexpectedly—and usually not when you have extra money set aside. Question: Will filing a hail claim negatively affect my CarFax report?
Answer: In most cases, hail damage is less of a concern today because of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR). Years ago, hail repairs often meant replacing panels, using body filler, and repainting portions of the vehicle—repairs that could impact the vehicle’s history and value.

With modern PDR technology, most hail damage can now be repaired back to pre-storm condition without replacing panels or repainting, which helps maintain the original integrity of your vehicle.
